Garden Club Members Volunteer at Crofton Rehab

Several members of  Crofton Village Garden Club (CVGC) volunteered at Crofton Care and Rehabilitation Center over the summer. Diane Smith, this year’s Chair of Horticulture Therapy, was joined by Jean McLaughlin, Ann Kane, Ute Alford, Tish Smith and Kathy Puhak.

CVGC Garden Therapy

CVGC is committed to community service, and this facility is high on our priority list. In fact, we’ve been conducting hands-on workshops for residents since 1990. Participants seem to appreciate the one-on-one attention from our club members and enjoy the opportunity to participate in various design projects. After the workshops, residents take their finished projects to their own rooms to enjoy for several more days.

All of our members participate in the house tours which fund these workshops, and about 25 percent of our members volunteer for the hands-on workshops with residents.

Thank you, Diane Smith, for your leadership in these activities.
