Day Trips for Crofton Gardeners – Brookside Gardens

If you enjoy watching butterflies, as many gardeners do, you may wish to spend a summer day at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton Regional Park. It is an award-winning 50-acre public display garden with much to see: an azalea garden, rose garden, children’s garden, formal garden, fragrance garden, Japanese style garden and trial garden. Needless to say, you’ll also see lots of birds and butterflies.

Here’s a preview of butterflies at Brookside Gardens:

Brookside Garden is open to visitors from sunrise to sunset, and the Visitor Center and horticulture reference libarary are open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. You’ll also find two conservatories for year-round enjoyment. Admission is free.

Location: 1800 Glenallan Avenue, Wheaton MD, 20902
