The Alice Ferguson Foundation in Accokeek, Maryland, was recognized for their ongoing community education efforts for protecting and conserving local natural resources, farming, and the cultural heritage of the Potomac River Watershed.  Their curriculum-based educational programs are offered to 10,000 students annually in the Maryland and D.C. areas, at the Hard Bargain Farm Environmental Center.

When I clicked through to their website, I discovered a treasure chest of interesting material about all they do and all they offer.  The Alice Ferguson Foundation is a real inspiration to any garden club or civic organization, and it’s easy to see why they were chosen for this national honor.

I encourage you to spend a few minutes looking at their website.  Again it’s The Alice Ferguson Foundation.
