Crofton Village Green Dressed for Christmas

Crofton Village Green - Copyright CVGCWe did it again!

The Crofton Village Garden Club has decorated the Village Green for the holidays for over 30 years, and this was no exception.

The first week of December was a busy one for members, with poinsettia deliveries on Monday, Village Green decorating on Tuesday, and our annual holiday luncheon and silent auction on Wednesday.  In between all that, some of the members helped decorate Hammond Harwood House, as we do each year.

Members, under the leadership of Carol Hampton and Sally Moore, hung wreaths from the lightposts at the Village Green and delivered wreaths to participating businesses on the Village Green.   As she has done for many years, Bernie Robertson created beautiful red velvet bows for those wreaths and others purchased by members.

Crofton Village Garden Club also donated the garland and wreathes for Crofton’s front gate.  This year, they got some help in hanging those decorations from a local business.  Thank you, TLC!

Under Lorraine Gordon’s leadership, Garden Club members sold 243 poinsettia plants.  Many thanks to Margaret Woda, who arranged for delivery from Behnke’s and pick up by members at RE/MAX Vision in the Village Green.

Lorraine also chaired the Silent Auction, which raised almost $500 for beautification projects in Crofton.
